I was generally appreciative of what episode 1 was going for anyways the first time I tried to read this, but I do think I enjoyed that more this time around. In particular I had a much more positive reaction to ~~the episode 1 Tea Party and the introduction of Beatrice and Bernkastel~~, so I think that's at least a good sign for how I'll react to certain aspects of the story that turned me off the first time.
