I liked wolf's rain quite a bit when I last watched it but its been quite a while. Strong characters and utterly unique. Heading for paradise... its kind of obvious how the ending was gonna go. While it had a little manservice its not a yaoi show or anything.

Moribito was sort of hit and miss for me. The beginning really got things going before the anime decided "ok, fun parts over" and then it slowed down and never again reached those heights. Kingdom's first arc had a similar story structure (intro, hectic escape, travel period, finale) but handled it much better IMO. Also it pissed me off irrationally with that spear move balsa does they keep bringing up. The move does nothing. Theres no reason it should have helped remotely in a fight but its treated like some ultimate dangerous move. Considering most of the fighting is very on point and well choreographed that just made me rage.

I liked eden of the east decently. The beginning especially was really strong IMO. The most fun amnesiac character I can think of. Been a long while since I've seen it as well.

I also wasn't nearly as into FFTA as FFT, although humorously enough I finished FFTA but not FFT (got sidetracked by quests, etc). I think the format and setting just didn't appeal to me as much, since FFTA framed everything as a kind of game whereas FFT framed things as battles in a war.

Also, as much as I liked FFTA the first time around (although the game admittedly had some issues), I could never get into a replay.

I've full completed FFTA twice (all 300 missions and the bonus cid questline afterwards). Despite the story being stupid and laws being also stupid, I loved that game. I feel like it and FFT got opposite things right. FFT:WotL has one of the most enjoyable game storylines and characters but the gameplay aspects are unrefined and cumbersome. The random battles are obnoxious as hell and a lot of the maps were pretty annoying as well.

FFTA has much better maps and skills and class balance and quests and gameplay set up but its story is actually stupid and the characters are boring children that naively stumble their way through the story. Was still stupidly excited to get the pink/white hair girl in post game. Also it's great that you can kill off monteblanc in the jagds. All the ivalice games ended up being my favorite FF games in general.
