The worker is still able to search for a job while this is going on and negotiate a later starting date after getting hired. If that doesn't work out, they can just go straight to their new job. The benefits of taking the temporary Telltale job is they get to finish a project they were invested in and the money might be good enough. The money is coming from outside backing so they don't have to worry about not getting paid just because the rest of the company is in shambles. --- This was not the best year for my bracket.
