He only has one appearance in the Super Mario series (other than SM64DS, which was a remake), Super Mario Land 2, and the rest are in spinoffs or his own series, similar to Mario relative to Donkey Kong. Yoshi is borderline since he is probably more commonly associated with his own series, but has also been in almost every Super Mario game since his debut. He's like Luigi basically, and I believe is in as many mainline Super Mario games since Super Mario World.
