They don't actually 'mean' that, as in, they don't want to accept a rapist, but they're driven into such hysteria by the back and forth on each side that they HAVE to take their side no matter what. They could try not confirming the guy? I hate sentiments like this. The GOP nominated him and in spite of everything wants to ram him through. Blaming their shit behavior on "hysteria on both sides" is disingenuous and just passes the buck I'm not saying this behavior is good. I thought I was pretty clearly expressing that it is bad behavior. I'm just telling you why they're acting that way. It's not 'because they're terrible people at a core level'.
