There's still a lot we don't know about how our bodies process artificial sweeteners, but to say that it's "just as bad" has little evidence to support it. Usually what happens is people consume more calories because they don't get any from their soda. Isn't there evidence of blood sugar spikes with certain artificial sweeteners? I also question why a body wouldn't want to process something.
