Well, just for example, there are dangerous situations on the road where throttle will avoid a wreck, and brake will just cause a slightly less, but still deadly or dangerous wreck. If you don't know your vehicle by muscle memory if you have enough powerband at the top of the next gear down from going wide open throttle (in Automatic your WOT position should send a signal to the computer causing the gear to downshift, or manually move it down to the "3" from 4th or "2" from 3rd if your car has that etc. [I know modern Automatic cars have more than 4-5 gears now.]) but not enough power that you spin the tires loose and lose traction. Again, this is really rare scenario stuff, but I just think it's important. Also, what you and me were hanging out, I drove one of my stick-shift cars, and then we were far away from cell phone reception and then I had a heart attack? You would have to drive my stick-shift car to save my life or get me to a hospital, or at least to an area where you got reception to call 911.

Sure. They are plenty of rare scenarios. And they suck. And sometimes, there's no much you can do. As I said, it an emergency, I'd drive. And I'd probably be fine. But for most circumstances, I would not. Also, this is also an emergency that could have been solved by driving automatic. But if I couldn't I would definitely try to either get to a spot with signal or flag down someone else. Though, tbh, if we were so far away from anywhere that we didn't see another person, or had cell phone reception, it could possibly be too late. We sound like we'd be far from a hospital. And I would probably need a way to find it. Like GPS or something.

As for the first scenario, that's if I had the muscle memory to do it. I'd probably freak out first and mess up. It would probably be safer with automatic for me. Also, like I said, I feel I'd be distracted by also having to do a couple other things while driving. Where I can focus on just the driving part with Auto...

But there are always situations where if people know one thing, or just a little more of a specific thing, it could/would help...
