When that wealth is herded by a few and not reinvested in the society that created it it is wasted for nothing more than material possessions that do not contribute to the economy. The simple fact is that income inequality, systematic discrimination,political partisanship, and a host of other issues have reached unsustainable levels. Something dramatic must be done or this will be the final chapter in US history.
