HGSS was awesome, and I liked Gen 3 a lot in general, so ORAS is also given, even if it's not particularly impressive for its time. And for Sun&Moon, I actually liked its art style and music quite a lot. Having full-scale human models and ditching grid-based movement are steps in the direction I like, too. But it's got a lot of underdeveloped features, and I haven't even played Ultra yet because I don't feel like going through mostly the same story again. It's not bad per se, but a good part of it is paced too slowly for my liking.
