I do like the Watchmen-esque aspect of it, though. It absolutely is not too morally complex if you, you know, watch movies from the 70s and 80s. Nor is it too morally complex for a world in which those comics are selling as the top comics to hundreds of thousands of people at the time. Watchmen was less valuable in 2009 than it was in the 80s when it would have really mattered. Let's also not forget that it's coming fourth in a series that has been MOSTLY optimistic, but trending towards a darker tone very slowly.
