Nowadays I have soda when getting meals and occasionally pick up 2-liter bottles when they're on sale for a buck. Even when I drink soda, I also have water, though. It's not like one replaces the other, although I might drink slightly less water. I feel like cans are usually cheaper. Plus, they also go on sale like all the time. But that's more of a store thing.
