I don't know the per-volume prices offhand, but there's no way that cans would be cheaper. Aluminum is more expensive than plastic.

I've never really did the math. But it's usually cheaper for me because of the sales. I can probably do the math next time I go to the store, though.

As for 2-liters going flat, that might be a matter of you not tightening the cap enough, unless you're talking over the course of like a week or something.

Usually, it's fine the first night, and sometimes the second. But by the third, it's usually flat... most of the time. There have been the odd occasion when it wasn't. Either way, I think can are better for me because I like to mix up my drinks pretty often. And that's harder with bottles. Especially 2 liters, since they take up a lot of fridge space...Where I can throw a bunch of can with different flavors in those bottom drawers...
