Division 6 Match 1
Geralt vs. Rosalina

Rosalina is such a trap character. She's going to get a decent amount of support here because she's a fairly popular Mario character, but man is she (probably) going to fall flat on her face. I used a poll of Peach here because Peach is Rosalina's absolute ceiling of strength, and it's likely that she comes nowhere close. I've seen some people on the board here state that Rosalina will rival - if not exceed- Peach in strength because she's liked way more than Peach is, and that is the exact kind of trap logic that led to stuff like people thinking Luigi would be stronger than Mario. Barring extreme circumstances, the 'fan favorite' character is never stronger than the icon.

Rosalina won't be terrible but she'll be like (gonna pull a number out of my ass) 70% as strong as Peach, and honestly, I think Geralt could hang with Peach. Witcher 3 has performed well in the few polls we've seen it in so far, and the game has only grown since then. It's probably the most well-received game of the decade and even GameFAQs couldn't ignore that. A character's status as a 1 Seed isn't always indicative of strength, but it's still impressive that he managed to garner that much support without a big B8 push. And luckily for Geralt, he passes the GameFAQs Front Page test by being the most anime-looking western character we've ever had. White hair? Golden eyes? Fantasy armors/sword? Dude fits right in. Geralt has the potential to be a midcarder, and even if he doesn't end up *that* strong, I think he has enough to beat Rosalina. Unless he flops. You never know with Western characters.

Result:
Geralt: 58%
Rosalina - 42%

Geralt has a 75% of winning

Division 6 Match 2
Ryu Hayabusa vs. Simon Belmont

Ryu Hayabusa is one of the most volatile non-joke characters in Contest history, rivaling Kefka even. His strength is entirely based on having a cool ninja design (what, you think people have actually PLAYED Ninja Gaiden?) so his results fluctuate wildly based on how weeby GameFAQs is feeling at that time. He's gotten SFFd by Solid Snake twice despite not being in the same series simply because Snake out-cools him, and god forbid if you put him in sprite form.

Even at his worst, though, I struggle to see him losing this. Simon wasn't awful before but High Fodder doesn't beat Midcarders without a serious boost, and I don't think Smash Ultimate giving more relevancy helps that much. He's not going to be stronger than Alucard and Alucard wouldn't stomp Hayabusa. Probably. Hayabusa is all over the place and he's definitely past his prime. Honestly, writing this out made me a lot less confident in this pick than I was before, but Simon's previous showings simply weren't good enough for me to think he takes this. He needs a big Smash boost and Hayabusa flopping on the same day which is...possible. Don't fail me, random ninja on the GameFAQs front page!

Result:
Ryu Hayabusa: 55%
Simon Belmont - 45%

Ryu Hayabusa has a 75% of winning
