If nothing else, Kanye West can articulate his ideas more clearly than most Gamefaqs users

You mean like when he accidentally said he wanted to abolish the 13th amendment?

Or when he said black people chose to be enslaved but then said he meant it in a totally different way that made no sense

His argument was basically that there was some degree of complicity in their captivity because they didn't escape or rebel, which -- whether or not you like it -- makes at least *some* sense although it overlooks the difficulty and personal risk (and keep in mind that there were a *lot* of revolts throughout history where people won their freedom). It's kind of a broader referendum on society as a whole since a lot of people are in unfavorable circumstances but they don't want to take risks, etc, to improve their lives. Kanye -- just like Oprah -- had humble roots where he could have just stayed at a low level all his life and lamented his place in the world, but he chose to do different for himself. I think that kind of shades his worldview where he sees things as being possible with tremendous effort and risk while a lot of people just write it off as impossible.

Granted, I didn't keep up with the original controversy, I just saw his attempted clarification.... or, at least, one of them.
