Yeah sorry to say it, but Kokoro's assessment is on the money. Neither one of these machines is really within upgrade range for what you're looking for. If you want to play those games with mid settings, you're looking at an all-new build.

But don't worry! A fresh build doesn't necessarily have to be super expensive, and the parts list FBike just linked to is a fantastic example. With those parts, you could slap together a machine significantly more powerful than a PS4 or Xbone for just about $500.

If you're at all nervous about building your own computer - don't be! It's actually quite easy to learn and do, and there are a ton of guides on how to do it. Plus I'm sure many folks on this board would be willing to help, myself included when I have time to post.
