Because the pharmaceutical industries have said for decades that they would pay to keep it a crime because people would flock to it and abandon the harmful garbage that we are given by doctors.

They give money (hundreds of millions of dollars) to candidates in presidential elections. They essentially become shareholders of the executive branch and then they have power. Seriously.

Bush, Clinton, Bush Jr., and Obama all took their money, so thats essentially why nothing has been done in our lifetimes. The pharmaceutical companies paid billions of dollars to buy presidential influence.

There you have it.
