The muscles in his 67-year-old body would probably be more "used to" his age, so they might not have been sending a signal to his nervous system that anything felt particularly wrong. At least, not anything that wasn't already covered via his general "my body feels a little weird" feeling that he was already brushing off as being a lingering side effect of the sedative.

For me, the biggest issue was his eye. You're telling me he never tried rubbing his eyes or his face throughout the entire AB Project? Or felt that there was no eyelid when blinking? Even when solving puzzles? Or trying to stare through a bikini on a poster?
