While I kinda hate the achievement based perk system, it was a refreshing mechanic that didn't try to clone the last 3.5 games. I never would have thought that rural Montana was such a fun place to play in and I think one of the biggest improvements is how everything looks much less gamey; that is to say the enemies no longer dress like videogame enemies, the outposts are no longer generic buildings, and since everything is rural, there is little in the way of elevated terrain making the outpost takedowns much more satisfying as you can't just camp snipe your way to victory. The ending sucks though. Both of them. Game Design 101 like why put your player character through all that crap when it doesn't matter anyway in the end. --- It's not so cliche anymore when it's happening to you. ...
