The spellblade damage boost with damage cap breaking lets Bartz wreck Quetzalcoatl, Mateus, Phoenix and Hecatoncheir even without a chain and he's constantly busting their savage modes. If you have Elara USB or another constant quickcast Bartz is fast enough with just his awakening so the extra damage is better in that case.
