Maybe they're trying to stop friends from boosting each other with intentionally marked down cards? They are trying to regulate their auction hall to keep things expensive so people pay real money to actually play the game. Considering it's basically Microtransaction: the Game, I'm not sure why anyone would want to play it in the first place. Because sports fans need their fix, I guess.
