I loved both of the first two games, thought Second Son was OK but missing something in terms of flavor, and liked its dlc a little more. I liked Second Son (enough to get the Platinum), but I agree that it wasn't quite as good as 2 at least. There were a few weird things with the story as well (like how Delsin's ~~brother tells him how proud he is no matter what choices you make in the game~~). inFamous 2 IMO really blew the first one out of the water. Yeah, it's more like the first one was testing the waters, and the second one jet-skied past it, throwing electric grenades in all directions. inFamous 2 is difficult to live up towards, but no company should treat that as "impossible." Don't get me wrong, I liked some things about Second Son, but it felt more like a generic sandbox (with usual sandbox or open world objectives) that hardly tried to even meet 2 in quality. Using the same simile, Second Son would be a makeshift raft, only sailing out a majority of the distance that the boat did that was the first game.
