best jrpg on the snes period

ffvi is good and all but the story is meh for the most part

sure the espers are cool and all but i don't think we ever sall all that magitek stuff do anything

and the beginning felt silly and boring]

it gets better later on when you see kefka but its not THAT good

i think the story of ffvii is better only because of how its fleshed out in crisis core and stuff

A big part of what I loved about FFVI was how the world just outright gets destroyed halfway through the game and scatters everyone about, and everyone just kinda has to deal with the apocalypse

So in a way, Final Fantasy VI feels more like Fallout than Final Fantasy to me, and I like that series a lot better these days anyway

the worst part of chrono trigger was the beginning

sure, lucca has her experimental machine, but it seemed so sudden that there's a portal and the hype music is wasted in a scene with little build up, at least for me

if they had a bit more hints like the necklace(was there a necklace i remember there being one but i forgot) flashing more or something as a warning or whatever i'd buy it but it felt really forced

however after that rough start the story was 10/10

You do have a good point, the game does start with a fairly breakneck pace and doesn't really slow down until the future. You can explore the entire first continent right from the get go but there's not much to really do, which seems a bit like wasted potential. You can go from the start to 600 AD in just a few minutes
