The beginning directly references the fallout from Defenders and resolves what happened to Matt afterward (which was kinda shown anyway). There are other references to the events, but you'd have to have seen the show to pick up on them.

And it makes exactly one reference to Jessica Jones, but it's just a comment on her personality.

As a general rule of thumb, you can pretty much skip Luke Cage and not miss anything. Jessica Jones is also exclusively doing her own thing. Iron Fist season 1 heavily covers the Hand so it's a larger part of the buildup for the Defenders, but most of what you need to know beyond that is just covered by DD2. That's if you want to waste time with the Defenders. Only three things happen in the Defenders that are worth noting -- Stick dies, Elektra comes back (but then presumably dies), and the Hand are pretty much defeated -- and only the first thing is referenced at any point during DD3 and it's a kinda offhand remark.

defenders was good. you should watch it

Defenders sucked. It was a colossal mess in addition to being a waste that derailed and delayed other shows. The first two episodes or so are just jumping between 5 separate storylines, one for each Defender and then one for Sigourney's character. Then you have more build and... considering that the show is only EIGHT episodes long, it's fucking absurd how long it long it takes to really do anything.
