I just don't get it. They preach equality every day, but if the relationship goes sour you're on the hook for them for the entire rest of your life. Regardless if they have a better degree, career, if they start new relationships or remarry, etc. That's ass backwards as hell. People wouldn't feel trapped after getting married if you could just have a clean break.

Obviously having kids is another thing entirely and you need to support them, but you shouldn't have to support a grown ass human adult.
