Ok this is interesting, i actually want to hear your opinion on this. Is it the dumb fanservice? I like anime based on food. Restaurant to Another World was one of my favorite anime last year. While I respect the fact that Food Wars does have actual food based science and whatnot in their series, the show does not really focus on that aspect. Instead it focuses on ridiculous fanservice, stupid melodrama, and the actual food is secondary to these elements. It basically could have been an anime version of Iron Chef, but turns itself into a fanservice mess filled with idiotic melodrama and contrived narrative elements in service of that melodrama.
