I was just looking at the recent results and I'm thinking that entirely new or recent characters that haven't seen a contest should be sorted into another bracket while uber-popular veterans should be in seperate one that eventually converges with the other.

For example. A lot of peeps like Cuphead in recent memory, but let's face it...Dante's got more milage and gonna stomp. Likewise with some of these other contest newbies. Another example. I kinda wanted Noctis to move up at least one round this being his first and all, but since Smash vets are well favored well you know.

I don't know, maybe its more impractical than I'm making the idea out to be, but its jsut every year I get psyched at seeing a fave of mine in, like Akuma for example way back in the first contest he was in, only to see them get easily knocked down by him being in the same round as Final Fantasy characters that usually win consistently. I mean I was kinda squeeing when Yakuza characters made it into this contest, but I'm kinda bummed knowing that a cult favorite like Goro Majima ain't gonna last against a well known icon like Master Chief.

Plus I know all the trolls are just gonna push their votes behind something along the lines of L-Block or Draven versus...you know, someone they actually like.
