Its entirely possible that, if the entire world united under one government, then it would be easy for corporations to buy off a singular group of leaders for their benefit. However, it could also work the other way: if the government bands together, the corporations cant threaten them they way they can now. Either give us a massive tax break or well move our company someplace cheaper, losing you jobs and driving the cost of our goods up!
