All the best apartments tend to get taken right when they went on the market after the occupant put in their notice, 60 days in Ontario, assume similar in BC... I had to move for a job and ran into that same problem, took one place that I could move in right away, excited because it was cheap, and yeah... it was available and cheap for a reason.
