Some of you may remember CE's Mafia games from a few years ago. We moved onto a private board, and that particular branch of Gamefaqs Mafia has been slowly dying out since. I'm looking to revive it. If you've played before, great! If not, all the better! The game I'm planning is definitely noob friendly, so no worries about knowing nothing. We really need to revitalise the community so new blood is welcome. The game will be held on the private Forum Mafia board, so another perk of joining is access to that!

For anyone who doesn't know how Mafia works, there's a detailed explanation at the link below. I recommend you read at least enough to get a basic idea. The site linked also has a list of roles on its wiki, and any role I use will be on the site, or a variant on those.

I'll try and explain it in my own words, as well. Mafia is effectively a game of informed minority (the Mafia) vs uninformed majority (the Town). There are two "phases", night and day. During the day, everyone can vote on someone to lynch and remove from the game. During the night the Mafia can kill to remove a player of their choice from the game. Players with special roles may be able to submit actions at times, such as protecting a player from death at night, or checking a player's alignment.

The aim of the game is for the Mafia is to kill everyone else who is not part of the Mafia, or make it so that nothing can possibly stop that happening. The Mafia are aware of their teammates, and are able to strategise with them at all times on a private board they will be given. On the other hand, the Town do not know the roles or alignments of anyone but themselves. They win by eliminating all the Mafia through voting them out during the day. There may be other threats not related to the Mafia or Town, which both sides could need to eliminate to win.

There are obviously more rules, which will be outlined at the start of the game. Any questions, just ask away! I plan on starting around the end of this week, and I expect it to take a little more than two weeks. It could be a fairly significant time commitment, it's possible the game could take upwards of my estimate depending on numbers. I do expect you to participate, and read the rules. Anyone who doesn't participate or follow the rules will either be replaced or modkilled, depending on replacement availability and seriousness. Please don't sign up if you think you'll be unable to (or will) participate, it's just more hassle and no fun for anyone involved.

If you'd like to join, just say so, I'll make a list of signups and make sure everyone is added to the board at once when signups close in several days.
