She is a very weak character in general and it was probably best to give her some meaning in comics by making her this girl Peter loved who died in the crossfire of his nighttime career antics. To me, this story does a great job of making her a little bit of that untouchable pristine memory, and that can be dangerous to a mind. --- "It is too easy being monsters.
