The video game industry has done so many underhanded, reprehensible, and just plain bullshit things with games I have zero faith in any company any more, so I absolutely refuse to buy any game on launch day, ever. I'm going to wait to hear reviews. Granted, I assume most of them are going to have their mouth wrapped firmly around Rockstar's cock, but I'm curious to hear about things like bugs, DLC, microtransactions, and gameplay quirks like constantly having to take baths and groom your horse, because the bullshit is definitely in there, no matter how loudly a lot of people are screaming GREETEST GAME EVAR! I'm in no rush anyway - I still need to buy Spider-Man, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and God of War. And I still have Uncharted 3 & 4 and Lost Legacy, Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider, and Syberia 3 in my pile of games I bought previously and just never got around to playing (I'm playing Dishonored 2 right now). And there's always Minecraft. Last generation I didn't even buy the "current gen" console until like 7 years in, let alone buying games at release. I'm too old to give a shit about being the first person to own and play any given game.
