The Baccano anime tried a really ambitious storytelling style, but I thought the stories didn't have the level of intrigue required to back that up and ultimately ended up slightly worse as a result. Though, I admit part of it is probably just that I like the setting and characters of Durarara more than Baccano even if the events of Baccano had played out in a more conventional manner. I just felt Durarara did a really good job setting up all of it's different characters and the relationships between them. I mostly liked the S2 stuff as much as S1, though I did feel season 2 really slowed down and dipped in quality a bit during the middle. The first and third cours were both great though.
