I don't get why the fired people in these false claim things don't sue the social media witch hunt brigades.

In the UK there are pretty much law firms specializing in that stuff now.

You've got he false claim which is demonstrably false now (in the UK this is well above the level of 'proof' that would be needed, the person making the claim about you has to prove it's true rather than you that it's false).

You've got the result of that claim, your sacking.

You then use the amount of twitter or facebook or whatever social media followers on an account to show the reach the person has to cause the damage with the false claim.

Anyone under a certain follower amount has to pay a nominal fee to a charity and issue a non removable apology. Anyone over the follower amount has a certain amount of time to settle or they face full legal action.

This woman would probably have at least 50 or so high profile tweeters who she could take to the cleaners. I bet some aren't backing down even now.
