Most people in the US live in urban centres with public transit and have access to transit lines (not a huge majority, but most). American car manufacturers really pushed the everyone needs a vehicle thing, and American life got structured that way. It doesn't have to be like that. It can't stay like that, it's not sustainable. Shit needs to be evaluated and people need to be worrying, like, yesterday


Most people? I find that... questionable.

I live in a city and public transport here is wildly unreliable. It only runs to each stop like twice or three times a day and doesn't run at night. I've lived in a few states, always in cities, and the only place I ever lived where I remember the public transport being functional was florida, but you didn't want to ride the bus there because of gangs.
