I really like the direction they're going with warlock discard.

"discard your lowest cost card" is just so much more controllable. You never discard Gul'Dan, and if there's something you absolutely can't discard, just play it first; it's cheap you might even be able to play both in the same turn.

Just way less RNG; I'll have to see how it plays, but at first glance I really hope this is how they do discard from now on.


I was really surprised to see that, honestly. people have said for a long time that they would probably never do targeted discards because the discard mechanic is based entirely around the idea that the chosen card is random. once you're able to choose which card is being discarded, all of the discard related cards become MUCH stronger. I swear I even remember blizzard related folks saying this on the reddit when asked in the past.

guess they changed their minds or at least decided it was fine to do it, even if it will make a bunch of cards stronger in a way that can't easily be predicted.

well at least we can expect timely nerfs within about 4 months after this card is printed...
