Hence why being selfish, self-absorbed, narcissistic, or full-blown megalomaniacal is considered bad. Fuck me, I'm starting to understand why the world is in the state it's in if this is the predominant way of thinking these days... Selfishness is a form of self preservation which is a completely natural instinct. There are a ton of situations where selfishness is not inherently bad.
