So usually for birthdays/Christmas the last few years, I've made my girlfriend little fanart pictures doing crossovers of things she likes (often like characters from one thing into the art style of another). She loves them and I enjoy making them. Pictures I've done previously:

so here's my plan for this year: I want to do a Winnie the Pooh/Bojack Horseman crossover, based on this picture:

essentially replacing the Pooh characters with Bojack characters, but keeping that same Pooh style

I'm unsure quite how I want to go about it though. For instance, how much of the original should I maintain? Should the characters be the same sizes as the Pooh characters, or be more proportional to their actual sizes (for instance, if I want Todd as Piglet, should he be tiny or just regular Todd?)

should I make the outfits more closely resemble the Pooh characters? Should I just make them the same animals as the Pooh characters, and if so, how should that be translated?

Should I do this in Photoshop (like the other four pictures I've made) or attempt it in SAI (where I'm not all that skilled) do get it closer to that handdrawn style?
