The thing is, it's not even a matter of moderation, rather appropriate usage.

Sugar is high priority energy great for raising energy levels when they're low, however if you consume it when there is no need, you risk the body misusing it and it causes the most harm in that circumstance.

There are times when high sugar is appropriate and there are times when none is appropriate, but you need to be able to judge when those times are to alleviate risk.
