That being said, I find it horribly ineffective in the long run because all it does is give them the idea that using direct methods of force and confrontation is an appropriate means of getting something to happen, which, for 99% of children and 95% of adults, isn't the case. I feel that it just sets them up for failure when it comes to expectations vs reality. Edit: I'm also not saying that it's gonna ruin their life or anything stupidly drastic, just that it fails to really teach them anything useful.
