Do people have opinions on sexism against women in Germany? This was discussed a while ago in another topic, but there was quite a lot of agreement.

Apparently, women are strongly "encouraged" to leave the workforce for several years, when they have their first child, and are stigmatised if they don't. Also, something like 2% of people on boards of directors are women.

I live in Germany as well. Yeah I guess we don't have a lot of women in top manager positions, but I can't imagine it's different in many other countries. But we have some laws in place to basically force a couple of the bigger companies to have certain percentage of women in top positions.

As far as women being encouraged to leave the workforce after childbirth / pregnancy for several years is bullshit. If anything, Germans are encouraged to go back to work as quickly as possible lmao.

There are plenty of laws protecting parents, especially mothers. You can read up about them.
