I'll agree to disagree. I nor my family or friends let celebrities opinions alter our views but I do guess the world is full of weak minded sheep who must follow other people's lead in order to form an opinion.

That is an incredibly ignorant take. You don't just decide everything on your own. Human beings are subconsciously influenced by things around them all the time. This includes the opinions of others. It isn't about actively adopting the opinion of a celebrity. That is not how it works. It is much more subtle. The fact that you aren't aware that you are being influenced doesn't change the fact that it is happening.

Not aware they aware they are influencing me? No I'm pretty damn aware. I disagree with most of my favorite celebs on a lot of things. When I form my opinion on something I actually sit down and think about it. My opinion has been influenced more by random people online who actually take the time to civilly talk about a issue and present evidence or facts to their side.

Aside from that the basis on my opinions stems from how I was raised. My mind has been changed on some things though

Also I go out of my way to avoid paying attention to celebs outside whatever it is they do that I like. Never got the whole following them on Twitter shit

It doesn't matter how aware you are. You have a subconscious like everyone else. Your brain absorbs and processes information in the background far beyond your active ability to think about it. You don't have to agree with a celebrity for them to impact your opinions. Just hearing their opinion becomes new information. It is stored away in your brain and having that knowledge affects you in some way. Celebrities reach a large audience. I agree with you when it comes to thinking for yourself. I highly applaud the idea of independent thinking. But that doesn't mean we aren't all being influenced whether we like it or not.
