I saw it more as "If you turn out your pockets, could there be $2000?" and my immediate reaction would be "Who carries that much cash on them?"

A better worded title would be "If you had to pay $2000 out of pocket, could you?"

Though in this case, I could, but I'd do what Krazy_Kirby did.

I don't have a car, so I wouldn't need to make any major repairs to one, and if it was something like a household appliance, the most expensive one I can think of is a new washer or dryer, and they only cost around 400 if you want a good one.

Not sure how much it would cost if say, one of the ceilings caved in and we had to repair it, but looking online, the average price seems to be around 1000, but naturally the actual price would change based on how much damage there actually is.
