Topic	Is there another franchise where one entry made previous ones obsolete? (Smash)

I'm not so sure about that. Smash 4 was getting almost as much representation as Melee at big events and Ultimate appears to be much better than Smash 4. There was talks at EVO this year about potentially only having one Smash game at EVO next year and if thats the case I think Ultimate would get the spot over Melee.
