Prof--the simple answer is that there are plenty of shows that are not comedies which have individual segments that are funny. For Zombieland Saga, I don't think the show is about Kotarou at all. Kotarou is obviously a comedic character but that's not enough to make me consider the show as a whole a comedy. I think the show is about the 7 girls and about them finding fulfillment through their singing or their friendship or whatever. I'm not 100% sure what genre I'd label it as.
