Anyways the way I view it, part of the reason WWII happened is because the whole mindset of the victors of a war taking war spoils was still very much in the heads of world leaders. Post-WWI, the Allies had their war debts wiped out, but Germany was on the hook for $33 billion as it was deemed responsible for the war.

Can you not imagine the contempt the German people held for the rest of the world? It was only a matter of time before someone tapped into that massive amount of negative energy.

Hell, the same war spoils mindset happened at the end of WWII. The Soviets used it to expand their territory, and the Allies used their part of Germany that was carved out to promote capitalism and democracy. Yeah, Germany was no longer the antagonist after WWII, but it wasnt altruism that motivated that.

Also theyre a democracy now. Idk if you were implying they werent but yeah.
