Don't become reliant on/just follow someone else, be yourself, move on from people when you have to and don't hold yourself back to please others. Honestly fairly generic themes. I think it was great for the directing alone (as per usual for Kyoani) and some of the more arthousey touches. It was also a nice small-scale conflict which is pretty rare in most media. Although that does make it a bit of a struggle to get into and I'd agree it's less entertaining than Hibike itself. Plus the necks were wrong.
