It's a really beautiful metaphor I got from this Marine officer
It's an essay about progression, it goes something like you start off as a dull pocket knife, grow into a butter knife, then you become a sharp regular knife, then a bowie knife, and finally you graduate to a samurai sword. my english teacher said I should finish my essay on a note about growing into something that's sharper than a samurai sword.
I decided to just take the easy way out and write "So I can grow sharper than the edge of a samurai sword" or something like that

Or you can say you graduate into a bayonet. So you could still say "So I can grow sharper than the edge of a samurai sword" ---
