Honestly there ere moments that were pretty hype and fun. But overall the story is dumb. Despair is lame. DR2 made it seem like they were actually charmed by Junko and they admired her so much and went crazy wanting to do things to her. Like they looked up to Junko's looks, skills, ideals, etc. And that won them over. But no, video brainwashing is not interesting. Future I think was more interesting, but the reveals and payoff were not good. I liked the scenario, but no satisfying villain or motivations are the real problem..
