One of the only downsides to guinea pigs is their relatively short lifespan. Anyway, Im sure you took great care of her and gave her a good life. Im also curious what kind of cage or housing you use for your pigs. I got a hutch for mine a little over a year ago, and its been fantastic. I just line the bottom with towels and plastic, and put a little paper-based bedding in the upstairs area.
