That and the balance philosophy has clearly been to have certain classes be stronger or weaker in a given expansion. This combined with the small overall card pool (compared to other games) means that a lot of changes have to happen for specialist to succeed. What I also think should alarm blizzard is the large number of big hearthstone personalities that are leaving the game or just not playing as much.
